New update— What AI means for the way we earn, create, and contribute — and what it means for us, here, in the hills.
Dear Friends and Neighbours,
Following on from our discussion on June 11th about the impact AI is already having on our work and ways of learning, I’ve received a lot of feedback — and some requests to continue with more informal sessions, timed so that people who work can also attend.
Our hosts for this activity, Sue and Trevor Young, have also been talking with community members, and having thought it all through, we now have a better understanding of what people here in Witta need to know — and want to understand — about the new normal heading our collective way.
The feedback centred on wanting the chance to ask specific questions about the impact of AI on your own circumstances. These range from understanding threats and opportunities in the workplace, to filling gaps in our education and skills, through to broader issues — the emerging economic models AI will bring about, and how we can use AI to build community capacity.
So here’s our idea: a one-hour around-the-table session every Saturday, hosted by me (Stephen), to explore any concerns, share insights into what’s heading our way, and demonstrate some of the tools and resources to help you on your journey to create more value impact than AI can alone.
